Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

Moori Clipper Privacy Policy

Effective August 16, 2026

Overview

Moori Clipper is a browser extension used with Moori for Mac. It does not require a separate account, show ads, sell personal data, or continuously monitor browsing activity.

Data processed

Only when you click the extension, start a clipping action, or use its context menu does it process the current page address, title, body, author, date, selected text, images, links, and attachments to create a Moori note.

Page and attachment access

Page text is read with temporary access to the current tab. Cross-site attachment access is requested only when needed; declining it still allows text to be saved, and granted access can be revoked in Chrome’s extension details. Source websites receive the ordinary request information needed to retrieve attachments.

Video attachments

Saving video is off by default. When enabled, the extension handles only resources the source website provides to the current browser session; it does not read or store cookie values or bypass payment or access restrictions. Official Bilibili series, film, and course pages save only page information, cover artwork, and source links.

Local connection and settings

Clipped content is sent to Moori through the local address 127.0.0.1 and does not pass through a server operated by the developer. The local port, pairing token, default themes, and clipping preferences are stored in extension storage; some settings may be synced by Google when Chrome Sync is enabled.

Sharing and retention

The extension does not transfer clipped data to parties other than source websites, Chrome settings sync, and Apple CloudKit when you enable iCloud syncing for Moori notes. Page text and attachments are processed only for the clipping task and are not retained in extension settings.

Limits on data use

Data is used only for clipping actions you initiate, not for advertising, behavioral analytics, profiling, resale, or unrelated purposes, and humans are not allowed to read clipped content. Use of data received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Permissions and data management

You can revoke cross-site attachment access, turn off video attachments, change or clear extension settings, or uninstall the extension. After a clip becomes a Moori note, you can delete it, empty Trash, and manage iCloud sync in system settings.

Security

The extension uses HTTPS to retrieve remote resources and a local loopback connection to send content to Moori. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security, but we minimize permissions, retention, and external transfers.

Children’s privacy

Moori Clipper is not designed to collect personal information from children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when extension features or legal requirements change. The revised policy will appear on this page with a new effective date.
